Custom Framing Options!

Studio Rachel is excited to offer custom framing options to my clients!

There are 8 frame options and 7 mat colors to choose from:

Choose from 2” black, cherry, bronze and iron mouldings, 1-1/4” white and onyx mouldings and 2-3/4” toffee crunch or rum raisin mouldings. All are available in 11x14, 10x20, 12x18, 16x16, 16x20, and 20x24 sizes.

We offer seven mat color options, including our Double White Mat, in Black, Blue, Brown, Cream, Dark Green, and Light Green. All mats are acid free and archival. Multi-opening mats are also available and allow you to pick several of your favorite images to frame.

Acrylic is used in the frames instead of glass. This is a better alternative to using glass because of the following…

-Acrylic is many times stronger than glass, making it much more impact resistant and safer.

-It is very light, only weighing half as much as glass.

-It has a transparency rate of 93% making it the clearest material known.

-It will not discolor, turn brittle, or crack due to age.

-It is a bit more susceptible to scuffs and scratching than glass, but such abrasions can be buffed out of acrylic.

The adorable Cushway kids! Chesterton, IN Children and Family photography

Welcome back Cushway kids! This is the second time I have had the privilege to photograph these wonderful little people.

It was a very cold day in Chesterton and we were trying to beat the freezing rain that was heading our way. We finished and within 30 minutes it was pouring. Great timing!

Newlyweds! Sarah and Dusty - Indianapolis, Indiana - Wedding

I have known Sarah since she was a little girl. She was a great friend of Rebekah's. She has a beautiful family and the most wonderful parents so I was very excited to learn that Rebekah and I would be photographing her wedding. I had never met Dusty but he seems like a good man and the love between them is evident to anyone they come in contact with. What a beautiful couple!

They have been together for many years and are finally going to "tie the knot" on August 14th. We took their photographs at Washington Park, in Michigan City, because of their love for the beach.

My poor neglected blog. :( It has been a long time since I have updated things but that is all about to change. Life has been full of changes and challenges for the past 6 months but all is wonderful now. I have been very busy working with Rebekah, www.StudioRebekah.com. We have a wedding, or two, almost every weekend this summer.

Three Little Peaches - Family Photography Hobart Indiana

Today I was fortunate to meet the "D" family. Christy and I attended the same private school MANY years ago but I had never met her beautiful family. They were "up" visiting from Georgia and I was giving the opportunity to photograph her three little peaches.

It was a cold yet beautiful day. We were blessed with lots of beautiful snow and very little wind.

A picture perfect family! Family Photography Union Mills Indiana

Saturday was a day for taking pictures. I started my day with my girls having their picture taken for the News Dispatch. I then spent part of my afternoon photographing the "K" family.

I drove out to Union Mills to meet "Dad", Amanda, Hanna, and Drew. Drew is home, on leave, from the Army and Amanda thought it would be a great opportunity for some family photos.   We had hoped for snow but I think that we should have been more specific with our requests.   The sky was filled with huge, beautiful, flakes for our entire shoot.  We made the most of it and here are some of the results.

I had the pleasure of meeting Amy when Rebekah and I were working a wedding at Sand Creek Country Club. If you want to have your event at their beautiful facility then Amy is the lady you want to deal with. Not long after the wedding I received an e-mail, from Amy, asking if I would be willing to take pictures of her beautiful children. Of course, I said YES!

Today I met Mike, Amy, and family at Creek Ridge County Park and we spent the morning taking pictures. It was a beautiful day and the kids were great! What more could a photographer ask for?!?!

Keegan and Heather - Wedding Photographer Chesterton Indiana

This past Saturday Rebekah and I photographed the wedding of Keegan and Heather.    The bride and groom have been together for 7 years and are obviously made for eachother.

The sanctuary, at Liberty Bible, was filled with family and friends who traveled a long way to celebrate with them.  There was a lot of love in that church. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple.

The reception was held at the Sand Creek Country Club. It was my first opportunity to work at this venue and it was wonderful.   Everything was picture perfect!

Three times the fun! - Children's photography Porter County Indiana

Saturday I was able to meet Courtney, Trent, Briana, and Kara at Coffee Creek. It was a beautiful day and didn't feel like November at all. Unfortunately bright sunshine isn't good for pictures but we made the most of it anyhow.

Two, Four, Six....FUN! Children's photography Porter County Indiana

Monday afternoon I met Emma, Eli, and Ella ages 6,4, and 2. I am not going to say it was an easy shoot but it was fun.

Emma is a beautiful little lady and my most willing subject. Eli was all boy! He wanted to run, pick on Emma (I have a little brother and I know how that goes!), roll down hills, etc. Ella is an adorable little girl who wanted NOTHING to do with having her picture taken. It was quite the challenge to get all three of them in one shot. We weren't able to achieve that "perfect picture", of all of them, but there will be plenty of time for that in the future. Someday Mike and Leighanne will be able to look back and these photos will be wonderful reminders of this crazy time.

Leighanne, it was WONDERFUL to see you again! You are still the sweet person that I remember and you are so blessed. I look forward to doing this, again, soon and hope that you enjoy what we captured.

I finished this photo tonight and it is one of those pictures that has so much to say.

These are hands that belong to 5 generations (see previous entry) of women. These are hands that have worked, created, and comforted. There is one little hand that is being used to discover and learn. It is a hand that searches for those more experienced hands when it needs guidance or reassurance.

Will and Amy - Wedding Photographer Watseka Illinois

This past Saturday I had opportunity to shoot a wedding in Watseka, Illinois. Rebekah and I traveled to a local park to capture the day for Will and Amy. It was a very cold, rainy, overcast day but this wonderful couple didn't let that get them down.

I have to share what a wonderful job this family did with this wedding. Fall was seen everywhere from the gourds that were carved and used as candle holders to the wonderful homemade food. The hourdeurve table had homemade salsa, chips, carmel corn, cheese, crackers, and apples with carmel sauce. The buffet included a WONDERFUL "bread bar" with all types of homemade breads and flavored butters. It was a beautiful celebration.

Engagement shoot bonus! Couples photography Chesterton Indiana ; Childrens photography Westville Indiana

Today I was able to join Rebekah on an engagement shoot for Loren and Erron. The "bonus" was Izabelle, Loren's daughter, came along. Loren and Izabelle used to live across the street from my mom. I haven't seen either of them in years and was amazed at how Izabelle has grown. She is a beautiful little girl and I had fun sneaking in some pictures of her.

Today I received a message from a dear friend asking if I could take pictures of her kids this afternoon. Needless to say I jumped at the chance. A few hours later I met Kelly, Libby, and Austin at Chellburg Farm. I had a lot of fun and it was great to see them.

Quirky Couple - Wedding Photographer Bloomington Illinois

This weekend I had the pleasure of meeting Jim, Brenda, and their wonderful friends. Rebekah and I traveled to Bloomington and Normal Illinois to capture their wedding day. I was a gloomy, rainy, day but the bride and groom didn't let that get them down. Rebekah made the most of it by using colorful umbrellas the couple had. We traveled on the "short yellow bus of love", had lunch at Subway, and enjoyed lots of laughs.

Jim and Brenda are a wonderful couple who are obviously made for eachother.

My mom was having an "end of summer" party and I was able to snap a few quick shots of this little beauty. Welcome to my new blog!

I plan on sharing my journey here as I build my portfolio. I have been shooting for years and have, almost, 2 years of weddings "under my belt" but still feel I have so much more to learn. It is a never ending learning process.

I will be offering "portfolio building prices" when it comes to session fees and and professional prints. All of that will be shared soon.

I would like to thank my lil' sis, Bekah, for her encouragement and help. She has been a great person to learn from and work with.
